We are a small choral ensemble. We enjoy singing a variety of good quality music including pieces by modern composers and a cappella pieces. New members are welcome.
There is an audition process. The ability to sight read would be beneficial but not essential. Previous choral experience would also be helpful.
Membership requires a commitment of practice outside of the weekly rehearsal. Tenors are particularly welcome!

Charabanc Housing Association clg, (“Charabanc”) is an approved housing body and registered charity CHY 22739 (RCN: 20107772).
A Parish Forum in 1997 identified the need for a social outlet for the elderly/actively retired in the community. Funds were raised over two years to purchase a bus and the Charabanc Social Club was established in October 1999. Many friendships have been forged over the years and members meet fortnightly to enjoy social events in the Parochial Hall as well as outings to gardens, theatres, concerts and other places of interest.
A Survey conducted by Lansdowne Market Survey in 2004 among 95 respondents, confirmed the need for social and affordable housing for our elderly.
Wicklow County Council allocated a Part V site on Cookstown Road to Charabanc in the 2009 Local Area Development Plan for housing for our elderly, following which, Charabanc Housing Association clg (“Charabanc”) was established in 2010.
Charabanc applied to the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and was given “Approved Housing Body” (AHB) status in 2014 to enable us to provide this much needed housing.
On 20th December 2021, CAIRN submitted a planning application to WCC (211533) for 84 no. dwellings (10 of which are for social housing) on Cookstown Road. This is the original site with approval for a Part V which Charabanc is seeking to develop.

Enniskerry SEC is a voluntary group established for the purpose of achieving increased energy efficiency and renewable energy take up amongst the local community in Enniskerry. The SEC is closely aligned with Enniskerry Tidy Towns and the Wicklow Green Party and draws on their significant community involvement. Our community is primarily a small village with residential areas and rural houses with mainly older buildings alongside three hotels (Powerscourt, Summerhill House and Powerscourt Arms) alongside 29 farms. There is also a significant number of old (100 year +) residential buildings in the area. The area is currently undergoing some expansion in terms of new buildings which is increasing population and resource demands.
Our focus is on increasing community sustainability within this context of upgrading the old and incorporating the new. We will achieve our vision by:
Educating the community on energy conservation and encouraging behavioural change which results in financial and energy/emission savings.
Engaging with the community to identify pilot exemplar projects. As there are three to four housing estates with similar house types in the community, we want to provide accessible exemplar upgrades of each housing estate house type. A suitably selected project proving the concept will create real impact in the community by showcasing innovative energy solutions and the way to achieve them.
Raising awareness and empowerment within the community on energy conservation by leveraging aspects of the pilot project
Examining the use of hydro power and if it is suitable for use in Enniskerry.
Working with our farming families to increase awareness and assist where appropriate.
Moving toward energy generation and zero energy targets for the Community
We will work together with existing community groups where possible Enniskerry Tidy Towns and the housing estate residents’ associations to advance the vision and goals of the Enniskerry SEC either directly or indirectly

A HISTORY : The meals on wheels service was started in Enniskerry during the 1970’s when local social worker, Ms Nan Wogan, became aware of the need for a service for elderly and living alone parishioners. Through her initiative Meals on Wheels was established. She, together with local sponsors Mrs. Corcoran, Mrs Jo Kelly, Fr Delaney and Canon Stokes became patrons. Funds were donated by well-wishers to enable the group to purchase charcoal heated metal containers to transport the hot meals. After negotiations with the Health Board, Enniskerry Meals on Wheels became entitled to receive 24 meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the area. These meals were (still are) provided by St Columcille’s Hospital, Loughlinstown. The Enniskerry area covers Glencree, Curtlestown, Kilmolin, the Village, Cookstown, Carriguna, Ballybawn, Kilcroney, Killegar, Kilmacanogue, Fassaroe and Rocky Valley. Duties were divided between four voluntary groups of helpers, each group taking turns to deliver meals once in four weeks. Over the years many people have delivered meals on wheels, some of whom have been doing so for more than 25 years. The contact person at all times for these helpers has been the Chairperson who also liaises with the Public Health Nurse for advice on who is in need of meals.
MARCH 2023 The important thing to note is the HSE grant has been withdrawn and we have to fund the meals service from Loughlinstown Hospital by means of an annual donation. In addition we now deliver meals on Saturdays which are provided by Bray Meals on Wheels costing €3.50 per meal. We want to grow the service to reach more people but our limited resources are already stretched in covering the cost of meals for those recipients who are unable to afford to pay a donation.

Pure is an environmental, community, heritage initiative, established by the Pure Project. The project encourages communities and groups living in rural areas to adopt a mile, or miles, of road, and keep this area litter/rubbish free, research information about their local wildflowers, plants, trees, animals, and the built, cultural, and social heritage.
The Pure Mile is the perfect opportunity for communities and groups who want to make a positive contribution to their locality and environment and assists people in improving and enhancing the place they live in, or recreate in.
Special interest groups such as, walking groups, cycling groups, scout groups, businesses, and organisations, can adopt a mile, or miles of road, in the Wicklow/Dublin Uplands and help Pure to Clean Up The Uplands.
Pure provides all groups with Pure Mile signage, Pure Milebags, gloves, litter pickers and Pure Mile high-vis vests, and we also remove all of the rubbish collected by the groups.

Soroptimists transform the lives and status of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities. The name Soroptimist was coined from the Latin soror meaning sister, and optima meaning best. In this way, Soroptimist means ‘the best for women’. From the founding of the first Soroptimist club in Oakland, California, in 1921, through to the present day where over 3000 clubs are flourishing throughout the world, Soroptimists have continued to strive to achieve ‘the best for women’ in every sphere of their lives.
SI Bray & District is involved in the organisation of the national Public Speaking Competition for girls in secondary schools. We also organise fundraising events to support local charities such as Bray Women's Refuge, Purple House and others. Since 2023, we have been involved in the "Giving Tree" project and received over 300 gifts for Christmas serving charities such as Open Door, Five Loaves, SVP and women and children in direct provision centres.
Other activities include: tree planting on Bray Head, awareness raising as regards violence against women with leaflets, joining the annual UN "Orange the World" campaign, and with promoting the "one-million stars" campaign. Last but not least, we organise social events for our members.
